COLD WEATHER ADVISORY

The weather is getting colder and we ask that you please dress your children appropriately for the cold weather - including jackets, scarves, hats and gloves.  Students will go outside for recess when the feels-like temperature is above 20 degrees.  Please remind your child to wear their jacket to school and recess.

PARKLAND COMMUNITY ADVISORY COUNCIL (CAC)

The December meeting of the Parkland Community Advisory Council is next Thursday, December 7th, at 6 PM at Parkland High School. There will be a presentation and tour of the Parkland TV Studio followed by the PHS Chorus Concert at 7 PM. The CAC serves as a liaison for the communication between the school district and the Parkland Community and their meetings are open to the public. HARLEM WIZARDS AT PHS - SUNDAY, DECEMBER 3RD

The world famous Harlem Wizards are coming to PHS on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 1 PM for a fun basketball show that includes trips, hoops, and alley oops!  Don't miss seeing Ironton teachers Ms. Haberman, Ms. Barry and Ms. Benner play in the game along with many other Parkland staff!  For ticket information and more, visit https://www.parklandsd.org/community/harlem-wizards


 

WORKSHOPS FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS

Parkland High School’s Performing Arts Club presents Frozen: Children’s Theatre Workshops.  Join us for two days dancing, singing, acting, and more!  Two sessions: Grades K-2: January 6th – 9:00am-11:30am and January 7th – 10:30am-1:00pm or Grades 3-5: January 6th – 12:30pm-3:00pm and January 7th 2:00pm-4:30pm.  Snow date: January 14th.  Registration is $50 and due by December 1st. Parkland Dance Team presents Coolest Moves On The Court.  Workshop is Monday, January 15th, 2024 – 8:00am-12:00pm (Check in 7:45am).   Workshop will be held in the Parkland High School Auxiliary Gym.  Workshop is for Young Aspiring Dancers (ages 6-13) with The Parkland High School Dance Team. Participants have the opportunity to perform at a High School Varsity Basketball Game Tuesday, January 16th at 7:00pm. Registration is $35 per participant and includes a snack and a t-shirt. The t-shirt will be worn with black leggings as the dancers perform. BAGGED LUNCHES FOR EARLY DISMISSAL DAYS

November 20, 21, and 22, 2023 are early dismissal days for Elementary students.   Parents may order a bagged lunch for 1, 2, or all 3 days. 

  • Bagged lunches will consist of turkey and cheese sandwiches, fruit, vegetable, and beverage and will be charged at their normal rate to students' cafeteria accounts.    

  • On the early dismissal day, your child's bagged lunch will be delivered to the child's classroom prior to dismissal time.

  • Order forms are due by noon on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.   You only need to complete a form if you are requesting a bagged lunch.
