• Ironton Art & Technology Showcase:  Tuesday, May 6th; 6:00 - 8:00 pm - Come out to see all the wonderful art that students have been working on throughout the school year.  All artwork will be displayed on the first floor of the building.  Makerspace and art activities will be located in the Media Center and the first floor hallways.

• NEW Visitor Check-in System: We're excited to announce the implementation of a new visitor management system across the Parkland School District, designed to further enhance the safety and security of our students and staff.  Effective immediately, all visitors will be asked to present a valid state-issued driver’s license or state-issued identification card upon entering our buildings. This simple step allows us to maintain a clear record of who is present and ensures a secure learning environment for everyone. Upon check-in at the main office, you'll receive a visitor badge to be worn during your time with us.

• 2025/26 STUDENT PLACEMENT:  Our priority is to create the best possible learning environment for every child.  To achieve this, we focus on composing classrooms based on a variety of factors and are unable to accommodate specific teacher requests. Parents have unique insights into your child's social, academic, emotional, and physical development. If you have any information you feel is crucial to your child's success, please share this by email with Mr. Holmes by May 15th. While we appreciate your input, requests for specific teachers cannot be honored.

• PARKLAND COMMUNITY ADVISORY COUNCIL - Please join the Parkland Community Advisory Council at their monthly meeting Thursday, April 10th at 7:00 PM. This meeting will take place at the Parkland Administration Center and the topic is "Publications and Media Resources" presented by Mrs. Nicole McGalla. A COMMUNITY RESOURCE FAIR will be held at Parkland High School from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 15th and will feature more than 100 agencies who will have tables, free giveaways, and information about social service agencies, nonprofits, recreational opportunities, and more!  Mark your calendar and check out more information here.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

If you have a child who is turning 5 years old prior to September 1, 2025, it’s time to register for kindergarten.

Similarly, if you have a child who is enrolled in a private kindergarten program who you are planning to enroll for the first time in Parkland Schools for first grade, we invite you to register now. 

Please call the school office at 610-351-5810 or email Mrs. Heater at heaterc@parklandsd.net  to get information about registration.

 

EARLY DISMISSAL OPTIONAL BAGGED LUNCH

January 24th is an early dismissal day for Elementary students.   Parents may order a bagged lunch that day.  Bagged lunches will consist of turkey and cheese sandwiches, fruit, vegetable, and beverage and will be charged at their normal rate to students' cafeteria accounts.  On the early dismissal day, your child's bagged lunch will be delivered to the child's classroom prior to dismissal time.  To order a bagged lunch for your child(ren), please click on the link → https://forms.gle/RuRn5NXBQTBkWHjm9

Order forms are due by noon on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.   You only need to complete a form if you are requesting a lunch.  If you have questions concerning the bagged lunches, please reach out to the food services office at 610-351-5670.
