A NOTE FROM THE NURSE:  Healthy Habits to reduce the spread of colds and flu!

The cold and flu season is upon us. Prevention will be your best defense. Washing your hands often is the best habit to reduce the chance of spreading colds and flu. It’s also important to cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your sleeve, throw tissues away in the trash, and stay away from others when you’re ill. Don’t touch your nose, eyes, or mouth with your hands. Get plenty of sleep and eat a balanced diet.

Please keep your child home if they have a fever, severe cough, vomiting or diarrhea. Your child may return to school when fever free without fever reducing medication for 24 hours.  Please note a sick child cannot give their best effort and are unable to participate in the classroom in a meaningful way. Keeping a sick child home prevents the spread of illness in the school community and allows the child a chance to rest and recover. Please do your part to protect staff and other students from getting sick and spreading germs to others.
